My dog asked me to say 'grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr woof grrr wag wag sniff scratch woof' which I think translates as: when are you going to come to London, England and do this? The LoveBox is on this sumer again cutting the widdling space right down - we'd be very happy if you could play for us'
Qualcosa di nobile e gentile per i cani e per i loro fortunati accompagnatori a Sydney, un peccato non esserci!
Woof Woof slurp woof arargh woof slobber slurp WOOF! (rough translation: 'Music for Dogs ROCKED! I was in the mosh pit and loved it. Please come back and do it again. But please Laurie bring Lulabelle next time! Thank you!)
Thanks Laurie, it was a terrific experience for pooches and persons alike. My Sheltie Willow is very responsive to all sounds, her ears didn't stop twitching throughout the performance. The sight of all those gorgeous dogs sitting calmly on the steps of the Sydney Opera House waiting for the start was a unique experience, it was performance art on it's own. Just wonderful!
what a great experience - thaks to the SOH and Laurie Anderson, this turned out to be a great community event and greatly appreciated .A big grin on everyones face - next time get the RBG to agree to let us all go back that way with dogs on lead to experience the Bienalle.
This was a dream come true for Laurie Anderson, she says - it was amazing and wonderful for the rest of us as well!
I can't believe I missed out on this! Here's hoping there will be more MUSIC FOR DOGS to come.
this was one of the most amazing things I have seen! Ollie loved it - thanks Laurie & Lou you rock!
Did the dogs like the concert?
A free performance by Laurie Anderson would be thrilling enough - we were mildly nervous about bringing our bonkers failed guide dog Labrador but he LOVED it! And the chill-out track actually worked... Thank you!
I got there just as it ended - just wanted a glimpse as I knew my pound-rescued dog wouldn't cope with the crowds. Such a shame. But at least Captain got to see the Opera House.
This was a fabulous concern Laurie, thank you. Lots of licks, Lily and Phoebe (the King Charles Spaniels)
The wet weather contingency venue will be under the Sydney Opera House vehicle concourse.
I've registered for this event and am looking forward to it. However I don't want to turn up and find it is cancelled due to rain. How would cancellation be publicised?
How will rain effect this event?
If dogs can hear outside of the human audio spectrum, then learn about where meditation can take humans into a mutitude of dimensions: > SydneyMeditationCoach.com/advanced-education.html
Wow what a great idea, so I can make a lot of friends :) woof woof
"The morning will be an inter-species social gathering on a scale never seen before in Australia. " How could that be possible? The size of the area and the access restrictions mean it could never compare to something like the Paws Walk!
Dogs are forbidden on all forms of NSW public transport unless they're guide dogs, and even then it's a stretch. Dogs are not allowed in the Sydney Opera House carpark, and the SOH by-laws actually forbid dogs from being anywhere on the Bennelong Point precinct surrounding the Opera House. You can go to the Rocks Markets and around Circular Quay with dogs, but as soon as you approach the Opera House, their security guards will come out to eject you.
SONY finally found a use for the SACD disks and their 50kHz range?
Ha! Emperors new clothes. spot on. Laurie Anderson taking the piss.
my my, look at the emperors new clothes!!!!!
Does anyone know if you can take dogs on the ferry?
Anyone intrested in a carpool from the west?
My dog loves meat but will eat anything. His favourite subject is food and eating but his second is listening to high pitched music at the Opera House. He'll definately be there.
Sounds awesome! I think the dogs will love it! I think they should extend the interspecies love and compassion with some yummy vegan food instead of bacon and eggs though - go the funky pies (veg of course): )
Love it. Going to go for sure. Don;t have a dog, but there will plenty there! fantastic!
How Sweet! I want to go soo badly but im all the way in USA-TEXAS-HOUSTON!!!!!!!! I wish they would come to the USA so my doggies could hear... :(
What a great initiative. Good work Opera House committee!!! An excellent way to get Sydneysiders together and add more life to the city.
mr and mrsT are taking me, and I'm so excited I'm nipping at their legs. I hope Marc Ribot performs there too, maybe on an ultrasonic ukelele
My mum and grandma are taking me - can't wait! I've been rolling in the mud specially - but my humans think it's not quite as great as I do, so they're taking me to the parlour on Friday. Sigh!
Oh what fun! I'm going to take my foster mum. Love Kisho.
I have just had my human register 9 places for the concert: 6 of us and 3 human assistants. We will make sure the assistants take photos to show our pups. I msut go. I have an appointment at the parlour, one wants to look good and smell good for such a great event. Look forward to it
Count us in!
I just got a human to call the Bienalle for me. I wanted to have a totally cultural day and see a bit of Art after the concert. Bienalle said No. Cockatoo Island allegedly not dog friendly for OH&S reasons. Grrrrrrr. Species discrimination, I say.
Oh wow, what an event!!! Laurie performing for dogs in their frequency. How I wish I could be there.....
The Rocks Market has lots of food stall with yummy food and the pubs and cafes around the Rocks area have outdoor seating where I've seen dogs eat there with their human companions. I'm sure you won't have any problems with finding a canine friendly place to eat. Sydney is not as canine friendly as Europe but we're certainly getting there.
Put some sunnies on and pretend their helping dogs!
I really want to come but wonder if I will be allowed to take my two small dogs on public transport to get there? Has any arrangement been made with restaurants, pubs, cafes etc so that we can get something to eat later in the day if we have the dogs with us?
I hope that Professor Yoshi will be there!!!!
Hey Pudsy; Opens at 9am for a 10am start.
Sound interesting! I wish I were there in Sydney on that date with my future Sergei
great but waht time????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I wonder if our 3 Labs would let us go along with them... "Lily, Nellie & Zac... please, please can we go too".
Sir Puffybear and I have just circled the Calendar. It may not be Brahams or Beethoven but it's an EVENT! How gorgeous!
"woof woof, bark , bark, wimper, woof". TRANSLATION: I am so looking forward this. It will be better than "Cats" ! .......Habba the dog
I and my baby SURI, will be there for sure!! This is a fantastic idea, and I want her to meet new friends etc.. Can't wait... Thanks.
fantastic you have 2 cannine friends from bondi coming
I think unaccompanied humans are allowed as long as they do not start howling.
Starts at 10AM, Saturday 5th JUNE!
Are dogs only aware of the starting time??? Music doggey style.
what time is it?
What time does all the howling start?
Is it possible to take dogs on public transport? I'd like to come but not sure how to get there.
If dogs are the only ones that can hear it, how does the composer know what it sounds like?
What if all the dogs start howling? - Great idea. I'm excited and I' not a dog.
Yes, what time does it start ? They can not express themselves if they are on the lead
So is it a 10am start?? Can someone please confirm? Looks awesome - great idea!
dog arent allowed on public transport unless it is a guide dog
WHAT TIME DOES IT START?
Someone needs to record the howling when the music starts.
